Invisalign® uses a series of clear, tailored, removable mouthpieces called aligners to straighten your teeth. The best part is that they don’t require any wires and brackets. Because of its transparent properties, people won’t even notice you’re working on straightening your teeth.

Invisalign is a perfect medley of advanced modern-day technology and the science of orthodontics. Invisalign aligners are designed to move your teeth in tiny increments until they reach the desired final position prescribed by your orthodontist. Every aligner you will use is designed, and tailored, to fit your mouth at each stage of aligning your teeth.  

As with all our treatments, the first step is to come in to see us so we can help you find out if Invisalign will be a good solution for you. Once we’ve determined it is, we send the appropriate information about your mouth to Invisalign. They then use advanced 3D imaging and technology to translate these instructions in a sequence of 3D-printed aligners. It depends on how many adjustments it will take to get the desired result. 

Each aligner is worn for about two weeks and only taken out to eat, drink,  brush, and floss. With each replacement aligner, your teeth will begin to move over time until we determine your teeth are all properly straightened. Then you’ll never want to stop smiling!

Is Invisalign treatment right for me?

Yes! Invisalign treatment can be a perfect solution for teens or adults who want to improve their smile almost invisibly. Recent innovations and technological advancements make it a reality to be able to fix and adjust nearly all common teeth-straightening and bite issues. This includes everything from the simple to the complex, which can be achieved all without disturbing your busy schedule.  

Plus, thanks to a discreet blue dot on the outside of teen aligners, parents can be sure their child is wearing their clear aligners enough, so they stay on track with their treatment. 

How long will treatment take?

How long depends on a variety of factors. These include the complexity of your mouth in addition to how often you wear your aligners. Your orthodontist will determine just how long your treatment will take based on how much your teeth need to be adjusted. Typically, Invisalign treatment time is roughly 12 to 18 months, although you can start seeing results in just a matter of weeks! 

How many hours per day should I wear my aligners?

To get the best possible results, wear your Invisalign aligners 20 to 22 hours a day, taking them out only for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. Essentially the more you wear them, the better. This ensures you can keep moving forward with your treatment as quickly as possible.

Since having my braces removed, my teeth have shifted. Can Invisalign treatment fix this?

Yes, Invisalign aligners can treat most common teeth-straightening issues, whether they are simple or more complicated. It’s a popular solution for many people who previously had braces. Plus, it’s a more discrete option when they find their teeth have shifted back. 

Is Invisalign treatment painful?

Invisalign treatment moves your teeth by applying gentle, constant force, but some people do feel temporary discomfort for the first few days when they put their aligners on. However, most often we hear from patients that it’s not so much pain as it is pressure. This is totally normal—it’s an indication that your teeth are being put back into their proper location in your mouth and transforming your smile.
